In 2004 there were 170,997 employers in Slovenia, employing 777,247 workers.
In the sphere of employment relations, 9,914 inspections were carried out and in the sphere of health and safety at work, 8.162 inspections (including investigations into accidents at work and hazardous events), together there are total of 18.076 inspections.
On the basis of the General Administrative Procedures Act, 20.369 administrative cases were handled. A further 2,150 cases were dealt with outside an administrative procedure, including expert assistance under Article 4 of the Labour Inspectorate Act, and other joint cases in the area of work of the body. In accordance with the requirement of Article 27 of the Health and Safety at Work Act, 14,934 reports of accidents at work, requiring the absence from work of the worker for longer than three days, were collected and processed in a special computer application that is standardised with the ESAW methodology.
